GMHC 2019
The Global Missions Health Conference (GMHC) 2019, hosted students, medical students, residents, doctors, global workers, engineers, educators, and anyone else interested in being part of Gods medical work. There was a wide variety of speakers at the meetings as well as a diverse group of exhibits. CMDA members hosted and presented in many of the sessions and there was a full complement of specialty sections available to provide information and encouragement to get involved.

The CMDA Psychiatry Section will host Booth Number 1453 in the exhibit hall. We will sponsor a Saturday evening meet and greet, coordination for church on Sunday morning, an evening banquet and breakfast meetings for fellowship and encouragement.
2019 Workshop on Attention-Deficit / Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) in Adults and Children

Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a condition in which characterized by inattention, hyperactivity and impulsivity. ADHD is most commonly diagnosed in young people, according to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). An estimated 9% of children between ages 3–17 have ADHD. While ADHD is usually diagnosed in childhood, it does not only affect children. An estimated 4% of adults have ADHD.

Depression has been deemed by the World Health Organization as the most disabling illness worldwide, affecting adults, children and adolescents. Diagnosed as a medical condition, it is treatable through a combination of psychotherapy, medicine and support systems.

The Psychiatry Section sponsored an afternoon session on Friday with a focus on Mentoring, Burnout/Resilience, and Sexual Dysphoria. We heard from Steve Sartori, MD, Director of CMDA’s Life and Leadership Coaching ministry as he discussed Burnout among doctors and healthcare professionals.
